EXCERPT FROM ALIEN TAKEOVER

They stepped into a corridor which led to an office with Thermo-D walls and a marble floor. Every step they took the floor changed to a different color.

Walking up to a large screen, Ponds said the word: “Frosow.” A 3d profile illuminated the screen. “Does this alien look familiar?”

“Yes … he does. That’s the man who visited Samantha and me at the church.”

“His name … as you know … is Frosow. He’s the first officer for the Raptans – an extra terrestrial race stranded in our sol-system.” His penetrating gaze reflected years in command.

Eddie faked an astonished expression. “I didn’t think we were alone in this galaxy.” He shook his head and slouched over.

“No, we are not alone. The Raptans have given us the technology of generating gravity and water purification. Are you familiar with teleportation?”

“Read about it in the daily scientist. From what I understand, they attempted to teleport a soldier three thousand miles. The man died, burned to a crisp.”

“Yes, unfortunately. Well, we’ve been working on Mindportation. The apparatus is finished and we need you to assist us because of your strong telepathic and meditation abilities.”

“Mindportation,” he said slowly. “What’s that?” He felt an onrush of anxiety, afraid they had traced his hack-packet.

“You’ll learn all about it Monday. You’ll be working with two of our best technicians along with Major Kauff and Trope. Also, I will add, because of security regulations, you will be stationed here for a month, after of which, you will be given time off. We also need Samantha. She has a high intelligence and is also a high-honored graduate. We checked her out. I will call her this evening and see if she wants the job.” He patted him on the back. “Have a great weekend, Eddie.”

“Thank you, sir. I’ll be here Monday morning.”

Full of energy, Eddie jumped into his hover and shot away.
